Central Texas Dachshund Rescue rehabilitates and rehomes dachshunds in need of a second chance at life
Unlike a shelter or Humane Society our dogs are not in one central location, but living in foster homes across the state. Most are in central Texas with a few in other cities. Most CTDR dogs come from Texas animal shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized. We also except animals from the public if there is space available in an appropriate foster home. Spending time in a foster home allows for evaluation of temperament training and socialization. And some just need to heal for a bit. Some have fallen on hard times and some have lived a good life and come into rescue due to no fault of their own, such as due to the loss of their human. Regardless of where they come from all are in a home and loved and cared for by our foster families. We are a group of dedicated volunteers to give freely their affection personal time, talents and money to save in the lives of these dogs. We solely rely on donations and fundraising to continue our efforts. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a Dachshund, Info and applications are on our website www.ctdr.org , as well as all dogs available for adoption.
